3-D printer creates transformative heart treatment device

Using an inexpensive 3-D printer, biomedical engineers, including Igor Efimov, PhD (left), the Lucy & Stanley Lopata Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, have developed a custom-fitted, implantable device with embedded sensors that could transform treatment and prediction of cardiac disorders.

WUSTL remembers Harold Ramis

Writer, director and actor Harold Ramis, a WUSTL alum (AB ’66) and former board member, died Monday, Feb. 24. He was widely known for his work on films such as “Ghostbusters” and “Animal House,” but at WUSTL, he is remembered as a great talent and a kind man who regularly returned to campus to share what he knew with students.

Gender influences symptoms of genetic disorder

Researchers at the School of Medicine have identified a patient’s gender as a clear and simple guidepost to help health-care providers anticipate some of the otherwise unpredictable effects of neurofibromatosis type 1, a childhood genetic disorder that can cause an array of problems.

Students from WUSTL in DC Programs get rare chance to visit with Dalai Lama

Students from the WUSTL in DC Programs had the chance to visit with the Dalai Lama during a private forum at the American Enterprise Institute on moral free enterprise and ethics. Afterward, the Dalai Lama greeted students and posed for pictures.
